The Count of Monte Cristo is an adventure novel written by famous French author Alexandre Dumas. The story was completed in 1844 and it is one of the most popular works by Dumas all over the world along with The Three Musketeers. Like many of his works this one was created on the basis of the plot suggested by his collaborating ghostwriter Auguste Maquet.
