In Mumbai, real estate developer Dharmen Shah hopes to seal his legacy with a building named Shanghai to be located where the once respectable, but now crumbling Vishram Society's Tower A apartment building currently stands. All of the residents accept a generous buyout except for Masterji, a retired school teacher who refuses to abandon the building he has long called home.
